When a “washed-up” Hollywood action-movie director takes over a failing community theater, his tween son lands backstage among the other misfit kids. With opening night only hours away, the adults in full disaster mode, and the whole production hanging by a thread, the kids must secretly save the show, the theater, and maybe even their families… one performance at a time.

Twelve-year-old Shakespeare Jones is dragged from his glamorous Hollywood life when his dad, a former action-movie director, takes over a crumbling community theater called The Sweet Swan. The adults are a hot mess: the diva hates children, the leading man forgets all his lines, the tech director keeps “accidentally” blowing things up, and opening night of Romeo & Juliet is just hours away. Luckily, their kids are secretly brilliant. With duct tape, last-second heroics, and a whole lot of heart, the backstage crew races to save the show before everything literally collapses.
With a big ensemble cast, tons of comedic moments, and an approximate 60 minute runtime, this play is a perfect fit for middle schools, youth theaters, and mixed age programs looking for a smart, funny, feel-good production.
